Knitting Patterns FAQs

What is a digital knitting pattern?

A digital knitting pattern is a product that you can download on your device instead of having it delivered to you as a print in the post. The digital knitting patterns on this site are delivered as PDF files.

Some people may prefer the printed version, however, there are many benefits to digital patterns:

  • You can download the digital file instantly instead of waiting for the pattern to be delivered via post.

  • You can print the pattern if you still prefer to work with something tangible.

  • Pattern can be enlarged on your device whenever you want to zoom in on a particular detail (for example if you have trouble seeing the graphic chart).

  • You can save the pattern on your device or external drive for a backup.

  • If designer updates the pattern, you will receive a notification with a new download link.

How will the pattern be delivered after purchase?

After you purchase the digital knitting pattern, you’ll receive a standard order confirmation email followed by another email containing a secure link to the PDF file that you can download. The link expires within 24 hours after purchase. If you click on an expired link, you’ll automatically receive another email with a new link to the email address you used for your purchase.

The file is also available for download in the Order Confirmation page. If you have trouble downloading, please let me know and I will be happy to send you the pattern myself or manually re-send the digital download link.

Because of the nature of the items, I can’t accept returns or exchanges for digital knitting patterns. There are no limits on how many times you can download a pattern. I don’t accept cancellations, but please contact me if you have any issues and I will try to help the best I can.

What are the care instructions for the finished item?

Care for your finished knitted garment or accessory and prolong their life by hand-washing them in a tepid water. This is how I typically wash my knitted items that are usually created with natural fibers like wool or alpaca:

  1. First put a little bit of wool detergent in a bucket (I put in about one tablespoon without measuring).

  2. Then, add enough tepid water to be able to fully submerge the item.

  3. Gently place the knitted garment under water.

  4. Let it stand for about 20 minutes.

  5. Remove the item from the bucket and carefully hold it under running water (I usually use the bathtub) of a similar temperature that you have in the bucket. This should remove some of the detergent residue.

  6. Gently squeeze out the water and hand dry the product with a towel.

  7. Lay flat to dry. I usually place the garment on the top of a standard drying rack and put towel in the lower portion of the rack to catch any dripping water.

  8. You can usually wear your item the next day or in two days, depending on how long it takes for it to dry. Avoid ironing the garment unless you set a very low temperature to do it.

Avoid machine washing knitted items that are made with natural fibers. They could stretch or shrink.
