Deepwood Cardigan was designed to be a versatile, “workhorse” garment that you can wear for any occasion. Whether you’re planning to go on a hike or dress up for a day out, this cardigan is a must-have for your capsule wardrobe. Soft and moderately warm, it’s my favorite sweater for any season.
The cardigan’s standout features are its tailored fit and the tuck detail on the buttonband and neckband. It’s worked seamlessly from the top down using the contiguous method for set-in sleeves.

Pattern description
Top-Down Versatile Cardigan Knitting Pattern
The top-down cardigan knitting pattern is worked seamlessly using the contiguous method for set-in sleeves. Sleeves are worked after the body has been completed. The body is finished with a button band and a neckline featuring half-twisted rib.
The wool, cotton and linen blend yarn was chosen on purpose to create a garment that can withstand a lot of wear, while also being warm and drapey. The small percentage of silk adds a subtle shine to the cardigan's fabric, which is slightly variegated up close.
