This pointelle pullover design is inspired by autumn foliage and the shape of musical notes; a serenade about fall splendor and the explosion of bright colors. It's an oversized pullover knitting pattern perfect for the fall and winter season.

The Serenade Sweater pattern for women is knitted bottom-up seamlessly in one piece with a modified drop-shoulder construction. The body is worked with a lot of positive ease to achieve a relaxed fit, while the sleeves are more slender for a modern look and start below the shoulder.

Bulky weight yarn - approx. 137 yds/125 m per 50g skein.

Yarn used in the design: Isager Alpaca 3, 50% Alpaca, 50% Wool - 8 (8, 9, 10, 11, 11, 12, 13, 14) skeins or 1096 (1096, 1233, 1370, 1507, 1507, 1644, 1781, 1918) yds/1000 (1000, 1125, 1250, 1375, 1375, 1500, 1625, 1750) m of Color 59.

Tools

Stitch markers (about 10-15).
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Knitting needles US size 10 (6 mm) or size needed to obtain the gauge for the body and sleeves.
Knitting needles US size 8 (5 mm) or two sizes smaller than the size needed to obtain the gauge (for ribbing and neckline).
Both needles should be long circular needles (32 in/ 80 cm), or the length you’re most comfortable using.

Pointelle sweater knitting pattern

The oversized sweater pattern features a fan stitch. Knitted with a soft yarn by Isager, a mix of alpaca and wool that’s both breezy and warm, this knit will keep you cozy during chilly winter and fall evenings.

The Serenade sweater knitting pattern is not recommended for beginner knitters unless you're an adventurous knitter who loves a challenge.

Recommended knitting gauge: 14 sts and 20 rows = 4 in/10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round, washed and blocked
